Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Melissa graduated from Fontbonne University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1996 and from the University of Kansas with a Masters in Health Services Administration in 2001.  She received her CPA license in Missouri in 1998 and her Florida license in 2011. Her experience includes public accounting in the areas of audit, tax, non-profits and consulting services; as well as operations experience in health care.  This provides her with the knowledge to understand the unique environment of health care and the needs of a small business owner.  She enjoys outdoor activities and has 3 children.

Katie graduated from Florida State University with a Master of Science in Accounting degree in 2007 and received her Florida CPA license in 2010. She completed an internship with one of the “Big Four” accounting firms and then worked at a local firm as a financial statement auditor in Tallahassee for over 5 years. While there, she specialized in performing
audits, reviews, and compilations of nonprofit/governmental organizations and construction contractors. She joined
Magill & Stochl CPAs in 2020 where she has expanded her knowledge in accounting and tax services for individuals,
small businesses, and healthcare providers.

Having fully retired from ownership in the firm at the end of 2023, Larry no longer actively works with our clients but continues to be available to Melissa and Katie on a consultative basis. A Florida licensed CPA since 1979, Larry’s career in public accounting included working for a variety of CPA firms from a ‘Big Eight’ firm to larger local CPA firms. All but two years of his career were spent working in Sarasota. He is a graduate of Florida State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree with honors. He started his own public accounting practice in Sarasota in 1991. He and Melissa merged their two separate accounting practices in 2016 to form Magill & Stochl CPAs, LLC.
